What is a father? Someone who is there to lift you up when you have fallen. Someone that loves you unconditionally, even at your most unlovable. Someone that encourages you to be greater than you think you can. Someone who teaches you how to dive off the high diving board and swim in the ocean. Someone who shows you that fear should never make you stop trying something new. Someone who, despite how old you are, calls you to see if you are doing okay. Someone who will always be there for you, no matter what.
Today this Daily Pearl is dedicated to my dad, John Sierra, who is an amazing father with the most generous heart. Remember to thank those men in your life who have taken the time to show you how to be a better person in this world. Whether it's your own father, a grandfather, a husband, a partner, a friend, a cousin, a son, a brother or a great neighbor, let's honor all of those men who are shining examples for our little boys and girls.
