There is no god higher than truth.
~Mahatma Gandhi
Truth
Why is it that it can be so difficult expressing our truths to the world? Why do we feel we must cushion our truths so that others don't get hurt? Why must we go about our day only telling "half" truths? Maybe it's time we all stopped and realized that by expressing our truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, we will set ourselves free. Now there's a difference between blurting out how we feel without any compassion and expressing our truth so it leaves no questions out there. If a friend asks you for help and you can't fit it in to your schedule, or you've been working so hard and it's your only "down" time, then tell them the truth. Don't cover it up with a lie. If your co-worker asks you to help on a project yet you are already behind on yours, just say no. If you get an invitation to a party that you just don't feel like going to, decline instead of saying yes. It's the small truths that shape our day. The more we take control over our lives, the more we will see the evidence that speaking our truth will help us feel more grounded and secure. People will also respect you more when you speak your truth. There is something very powerful that happens when you do. Others will know and respect that you are coming from a place of authenticity. You must do what's right for you and not for everyone else. Learn how to speak your truth today and watch how much more freedom you feel.
