Forgive
Forgive
The most powerful tool you can give yourself is the act of forgiveness. Forgiving doesn't mean condoning the behavior, it means you will no longer allow that anger and upset to live inside of you. It also means letting go that the situation could have been different. The most important person to forgive though is the hardest and that person is yourself. You were only doing the best you could at that time. Now that you know differently, you can choose differently the next time. Forgive yourself for missing that opportunity, for not leaving the relationship earlier, for not speaking your mind, for not walking away from any harmful situation, for staying at that job too long, for everything you berate yourself about - it's time to forgive.
