Approach

Dare to turn life on its end, and you may find that
topsy-turvy is a truer perspective than turvy-topsy.
~Robert Brault

Approach
Have you ever tried to accomplish something and kept failing?  Have you ever worked toward a goal yet you have gotten the same results time after time?  Have you ever felt like you were on a hamster wheel and getting nowhere?

Well maybe you need a new approach!  When you continuously pursue something but the same way you will always get the same result.  If I hammer a nail in sideways it will never go in straight.  I can get frustrated at the nail or even the hammer when it's my approach that is causing the problem.  Life works the same way.  If something isn't working then stop going at it that way.  If you trying to work out and have set your sites on going to the gym in the morning but you are not a morning person guess what - your approach will not allow you to be successful.  Instead of getting frustrated at life or situations you are in, recognize the power you have to change it.  You can try it another way and then another way again if you still do not get the results you are looking for.  Allow yourself to truly see where your patterns have not allowed you to grow.  Then make a change - today.

Blocks

A blocked path also offers guidance.
~Mason Cooley

Blocks
Have you ever felt like there was something standing in your way of achieving a goal, almost like there is a block in your life preventing you from finally getting over the challenge and getting to the other side?  If you are feeling that way, it's time to move your energy around.  When you feel blocked it's because the energy is also blocked around you.  That's when you know you need to do some work.  Whether it's meditating, prayer or exercising - the key is to move your inner energy around.  If you sit crossed leg for a long period of time, what happens?  Your leg falls asleep.  Well if you sit with your inner energy not moving around for awhile (doing the same thing day and day out, not taking care of yourself, just going through the motions waiting for life to happen or even allowing old patterns to be in your space) then it too will get stagnant.  The only way to create the life you want is to, well create!  You are the answer to any block you face.  The answer has always been and will always be you.  You have the power to move it.  Nobody else.

Sun Spot

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.
~Maori Proverb

Sun Spot
As the rays of the sun filter through your windows, sun spots are created.  These are pockets of sunlight that come to rest on your couch, your bed, your floors, etc.  If you have a dog or cat, you might find them curled up resting in those sun spots.  These spots provide a temporary space full of warmth, light and peace where it just feels so safe and cozy.

Everyone needs a sun spot in their life.  Every single day, you should find a place that provides the calmness and love to help recharge your batteries and help quiet your soul.  Maybe it will be an actual sun spot!  Either way, the few seconds you take to stop and just breathe, center yourself and be present in the moment, the more you will feel peaceful throughout your entire day.  So go on - find that space that lights up your soul and makes you smile.  Linger there for a few minutes and see just how much that helps you along the way.

Fog

“I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what his grandson will be.”
~Abraham Lincoln

Fog
Have you ever tried to navigate through fog, whether it's walking or driving, especially in the early morning hours or late hours of the night?  It can be scary!  You can't see what's ahead of you, sometimes you can't see past a few feet. The fog makes you stop and be present in the very spot you are in.  There is no seeing ahead or behind you.  The only thing you can see is what's directly in front of you or beside you and sometimes the only thing you can see is you.

What if the fog was an actual lesson for us?  What if it rolls in to help us stop living in the future or the past but concentrate directly on what's happening in the present within our immediate space?  What if the fog gives us permission to just stop and be for a little while.  And what if the ultimate lesson was to be present more whether there is fog in front of us or not?

Try it.  Live today or maybe part of the day in the "now".  Base everything off of what's directly surrounding you, not what was or could be but what IS.  Try it.  You just might fall in love with the present.

All In

Too many of us are not living our dreams because
we are living our fears.
~Les Brown

All In
Too many times in life we do things half-assed.  We think we are putting our all into something but if we really took a step back and were truthful with ourselves we would quickly realize the truth - we are not all in.  And why?  Why do we choose not to fully invest in something? Whether it's our careers, an idea, our health or even our relationships, more often than not we choose to not fully immerse ourselves.  Maybe if we actually allowed ourselves the time to be honest, we would find that we are scared of what that would really look like - to be fully all in to something.  Maybe we are scared that we would actually get everything we are looking for.  Imagine that - being worthy of receiving everything you hope and dream for...

If you can't dive all the way in you will never know what's truly there.  You will never reap the benefits, see the full potential, experience the awe and wonder and above all you will always have the feeling of what if.... what if I had gone all in?  How would it have been different?

Does this come with risk - well of course but so does life.  You can't experience the highs without the lows and everything we do a lesson to help us along our journey.  So on this day take an inventory of where you need to be all in and make the commit to do so.
