Forgiveness

Forgive all who have offended you, not for them, but for yourself.
~Harriet Nelson

Forgiveness
It's easy to hold a grudge. We think it makes us feel better to not let someone "off the hook" for making us feel bad about ourselves or a situation. We think that by not forgiving them, they somehow continue to suffer the pain like we are but the hard truth is that the only person suffering is us. Most likely that person doesn't even realize they caused us such pain or if they have, they have moved on. On the other hand, we sit here licking our wounds and staying in a place of discomfort and anger. What do you think this does to us? Yep, it weakens our body and spirit. Forgiveness is not easy and it doesn't come quickly but the more we can learn to release our pain, the more we open up our heart to healing and moving forward.

Take the time to assess all of the areas in your lives that need some forgiving. Maybe it's a person or a situation that you need to start to forgive or it might even be yourself. Start the healing process today so that tomorrow you can find the peace that you deserve.
