Expectations
Feeling overwhelmed lately; like you're in a vice grip that's getting a little bit tighter every single day? There seems to be so many expectations and yet only one you to get it all done. You look around and may feel like 'how does everyone else have their sh*t together except me?' Well here is a little secret - no one has it altogether, that's a bold face lie. Most of the time we are all just hanging on by a thread. But why? Why do we all feel like this? Most of it is do to the expectation we put on ourselves to be everything to everyone when the truth is the only person in this life we need to make feel whole is US! When we work on being authentic and not in control, we not only let ourselves off the hook but we also give ourselves the best gift - grace. We allow ourselves to get done what we can and give room to let go of that which really does not serve us any longer. If the past year plus has taught us anything, it's just that. Giving ourselves room to just be, room to say no, room to ask for help, room to let the laundry pile up, room to not overextend ourselves, room to stay in pajamas all day, room to take a day off to do nothing, room to turn off the tv and pick up a book, room to order in dinner and not cook, or even room to unplug for the entire weekend, will recharge our batteries and give us the energy we are all so desperately in need of. It's time to set your expectations to a normal range and not that of being superhuman.
