Nursing the Hurt

Forgive all who have offended you, not for them, but for yourself.
~Harriet Nelson

Nursing the Hurt
We carry around old wounds like we do our wallets. Every day we make sure we put them in our pockets or purses before we head out for the day and take them around with us every where we go. We even take the contents out to show a few people along the way.  Why do we do this? Why do we insist on nursing the hurt and pain, especially once it's over? There might be several reasons why (such as we believe this moment defines us, or we are scared to move forward, or we don't know how to not feel the pain, etc.) but by carrying around your old wounds you are not letting them heal. You are also not giving the space for something better to come in and take its place. Wounds are lessons. You are only suppose to take what you learned from the experience and leave the rest where it belongs, in the past.  Put down your hurt once and for all today.

Try Again

I have not failed.
I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
~Thomas Edison

Try Again
Sometimes you just have to pick yourself and try again. You might have had the best of intentions. You may have started off with energy and the focus you needed but something happened that threw you off. It's ok to not let that stop you. It's okay to just stop, breathe and start again. You can never fail if you at least try. Failing on comes when you never try at all.
