Reset

You’ll always miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
~Wayne Gretzky

Reset
Wouldn't it be great if you had a reset button you could press from time to time. The thought of being able to give yourself a "second chance" or another way to try something again is exciting. What would you do differently? Who would you have around you? How would the situation turn out with the knowledge you have now?

Guess what?  You do have a reset button!  It's called a new day.  Each time we wake up in the morning is another day to start anew, to try something again or to do something differently. You are never stuck, despite how you might feel.  Each day brings with it a possibility to open new doors, meet new people, try new things and above all, to be fearless and just go for what you want. What a concept and what a way to start steering your life in the direction you choose.  Happy Reset Day every day!

It's Not Personal

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.
~Oprah Winfrey

It's Not Personal
Nine times out of ten, something said to you or done to you is not personal.  Let's repeat that - it's not personal.  You might take it that way but the reality of a situation, when you remove your emotions, is that it truly wasn't aimed at you. Now it's tricky to navigate because at the surface it feels like it's a personal attack but the beauty of learning this lesson is being able to remove yourself from the emotion when it's happening.  When you can see a situation for what it really is, which is usually that other person displacing their feelings upon you, you will stop absorbing that persons emotions, you will stop letting their outburst ruin your day and you will stop feeling like the world is out to get you - because it's not!

If you can stop taking everything so personally, you also stop the drama.  By doing this you open your heart to truth, to love and most of all ~ to peace.

Trust

Trust is letting go of needing to know all the details before you open your heart.
~Author Unknown

Trust
Sometimes it's so hard for us to trust.

Trust that we are exactly where we should be.

Our minds race all day long ...
        How did I get here?
I thought I would be in a better  place by now?
Why doesn't my life look how I planned it to be?
How come I can't shake this feeling of restlessness?

And as our minds race, we no longer are present in the moment. We no longer see the beauty of where we are, the lessons all around us and the timing of the universe. The more we wish things were different, the more we get stuck. The more we try and control that which we can't, the more nothing changes in our favor. It's time to surrender.  Surrender your burden, your worry, your guilt, your feelings of unworthiness, your troubles all over to the universe. Lay them down and walk away.

Sometimes the only way to move forward is to trust in life...
Trust that it ultimately knows better than you.
Trust that it can open doors and paths you never knew existed.
Trust that where you are is giving you tools for the next steps in your life.

The hardest thing and yet the most miraculous gift you can give yourself is trust.  Try wrapping that up as your own personal gift to yourself this holiday season.

Full of Thanks

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today.
Have you used one to say "thank you?"
~William A. Ward

Full of Thanks
Do you notice how many times a day you say negative messages to yourself?  Any of these sound familiar:

  • life is just so hard
  • will it ever get better
  • how much more can I take
  • I am just so stressed
  • why doesn't anyone understand
  • I'm always broke
  • why doesn't anyone listen
Well if these kind of messages run through your head every day then guess what - this is what you will be constantly creating for yourself.  It's as simple as that.  You are not creating the space for abundance to come in when you are constantly filling it with the messages above.

What do you do?  Change it.  When you wake up in the morning, before you grab your phone or even open your eyes fully, list at least 2 to 3 things your heart feels full of thanks for.  Maybe it's the warm bed itself, the person sleeping next to you, the sound of the baby monitor, the phone call you received that made you smile, the co-worker that brightened your day, the meaningful conversation you had, the dollar you found on the street or snuggling with your puppy.  Before you go to bed at night, do the same thing.  Being thankful is a practice, just like brushing your teeth.  If you don't do it, you end up stinking!  So start practicing having a heart full of thanks and see what that does to improve your life.

Make A Difference

It's easy to make a buck, it's a lot harder to make a difference.
~Tom Brokaw

Make A Difference
Life is short.  We've all heard that before.  So what have you done to make a difference?  The past few days we all reflected on that which we are thankful for whether it was family, friends, situations, particular items or certain miracles.  Do you think your name was on anyone's thankful list?  If not, what can you do to change that.  You are meant to be greater than your wildest dreams and that includes making a positive difference in the lives of others.  Whether it's by holding the door open, buying a stranger a cup of coffee, stopping by a friend's house just because or reaching out to someone that's been on your mind, do something positive today.  Don't wait for tomorrow for that is guaranteed to no one.  Take a few minutes out of your day to brighten someone else's ... and don't stop there, make it a daily habit.
