Take Responsibility

If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't sit for a month.
~Theodore Roosevelt

Take Responsibility
How many times do you find yourself pointing at someone stating "but if they hadn't…" or "if this only didn't happen this way…"? Probably too many times to count.  It's so easy, almost too easy to rest your problems on other people or situations. This way you don't have to take responsibility for your life. It will never be your fault if you never point the finger back in your own direction. That's a good thing, right? Um no, not really.  Here's a secret, you will never fully grow if you are constantly making excuses as to why your life is not on the track you want it to be. It's a hard thing to take a look in the mirror and say I am where I am because of my choices (over that which we can control).  But the blessing in all of this is that you can choose a new path anytime you want! By taking responsibility over our lives, you become fully aware of everything. You realize how important every single decision you make is. You understand the importance of who you spend your time with. Most importantly though, you start believing in yourself and what you can accomplish rather than relying on anyone else to get you there. Right now, make the decision to be responsible for your life since it's too precious to give to someone else to navigate.

What Matters Most

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.
~e.e. cummings

What Matters Most
You were put here on Earth for a great purpose. As life takes its twists and turns, those are all opportunities being presented to you to learn from, grow from and help guide you to the "bigger picture". But you can easily be distracted. People may try and derail you off your course or the allure of surrounding yourself with lots of "things" be it the most expensive clothes, a bigger house, a better car or shinier jewelry. It's easy to get swept up in what doesn't matter. It's easy to distract yourself so that you don't have to do the real work that it takes to get to your life purpose. But for what? To have more "things" like fake friends and closets full all the while carrying around a half empty heart. That's not what you are here to do nor is that a part of your journey. Stop distracted yourself from living the life you were meant to live, not the life someone else is telling you (or selling you) to have. Define what matters most for you and live authentically.
