You Are Your Thoughts

You and I are not what we eat; we are what we think
~Walter Anderson, The Confidence Course, 1997

You Are Your Thoughts

Your words and actions shape who you are but your thoughts ultimately define your life.

  • If you say that you are not a good person, well you will be true to that thought.
  • If you say you are not good with money then you will never be financially sound.
  • If you say you only get into bad relationships, you will keep repeating this pattern.
  • If you say "why does this always happen to me", well guess what? - It will.
  • If you say I can't lose the weight, then you won't.
It's that simple yet that profound. You are your thoughts. When you think about what you don't have or what you perceive yourself as lacking, you will be stuck in that pattern because that's what you are allowing into your life. Starting your thoughts with, I wish I had, I wish I was, If only sets up your thoughts pattern to be negative and focused on what you don't have. Well if you focus on that, guess what?  You won't have it!

By practicing daily affirmations, you can start to change these patterns and thus change your life. Some  simple yet powerful affirmations you can repeat any time of the day are:
  • I am safe and secure
  • My life is full of abundance
  • My body is healthy and in balance
  • I release the patterns that no longer serve my higher purpose
  • My future is bright and full of love
  • I love & I am love
You want to change you life - change your thoughts!

Meditation

Meditation is not something that should be done in a particular position at a particular time. It is an awareness and an attitude that must persist throughout the day.
~Annamalai Swami

Meditation
You always here how wonderful meditation is. Yet if you are like most people, the thought of sitting crossed legs, palms up and in silence for 20 minutes may seem utterly impossible. But what if meditation can occur in many different ways? What if it's the 20 minutes walk you have with your dog in the morning or evening? What if it's being present and really enjoying cooking for yourself or your family? What if your meditation is writing a blog? Meditation is the act of being present and aware in the moment; getting the voice in your head to turn off and your instinct to turn on. It's the peace that you can find drinking a cup of coffee outside on your patio while the sun is rising. Meditation can happen in many forms, you just need to recognize the right fit for you and make sure that's something you put more of into your daily life. It may also mean being able to sit in the lotus position for 30 minutes uninterrupted by yourself or anyone else. By recognizing what brings you closer to who you are and gives you inner peace throughout the day, that is our form of meditation. Start there. Recognize that and then you can expand, if you want to, to try it in other forms. The more aware you become, the more you usher in peace into your daily life.

A Mother's Love

God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers.
~Jewish Proverb

A Mother's Love
Today is day where we honor those special women in our lives that are mom's. A mother's love is like no other:

It has no bounds.
It's a safe place to fall.
It's a healing touch.
It's a daily call.

It's a heartfelt exchange.
It's a playful smile.
It's a loving hello.
It doesn't matter the miles.

It's a deep connection.
It's twinkle in the eye.
It's an unspoken bond.
It's never goodbye.

Wishing all the beautiful women in my life a blessed Mother's Day!
